Alices Phonics Fantasy

For the past month I have been rehearsing a new musical called "Alice's Phonics Fantasy" It is a musical focusing on teaching kids to read through African Dance. I landed the role of Alice and was excited to be a part of a show like this, since I have never been much of a dancer, and have never done Childrens shows, this was going to be a big challenge! The 2 week rehearsal process was extremely draining, tiring and frusterating...but this week the show opened and it was a great success.

The first show, Thursday night, was basically a private performance for my family and friends! The audience consisted of Cameron, my mom & dad, Ash, Ty and 2 of my friends. Friday on the other hand was a sold out performance for 800 children from charter schools around NYC. saturdays house was a bit smaller - but still a nice crowd! So far the response has been great, and we are looking to take this show on tour in the fall!

Soon clips will be available on the website, phonicsfantasytheater.com

A scene where I "dance out" the word WIN

Winter in New York

I just love Christmas time and all the fun activities that go along with it. Last weekend we went to this little town a few minutes away for a Christmas weekend! There were horse drawn trolleys, carolers, apple cider, chestnuts and lots of fun!!

This is us in front of the horse trolley ride. You may notice that my dad has been replaced b two men in costumes. My dad asked the santa one "would you mind taking a picture in front of the horse for us?" and santa replied "SURE!" and proceeded to get IN the photo, rather than take it.

Same thing happened here...what is with these costumed people?!

FINALLY someone got it right and took the picture instead of getting in it with us!!!

Another thing about this time of year is the SNOW! Last night we had a blizzard and a good 8 inches of snow, so today we decided to sled and snowboard in our backyard. The hills ar enothign compared to Utah, so we were not going very fast - but it was still fun!! We gotta get Ash and ty out to Utah to REALLY snowboard!

Ash takin a turn on the board!

Ty takin after Roon!!

Even my dad tried the sled! He tried the board too but we have no evidence!

This seemed like a good idea....

oopss!

Watch out Ash!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

It was so great having Cameron here with me for the past 2 weeks. Even though he had to work most of the days, he still managed to spend as much time with me as possible and make me feel extra special!

He had some fight issues the day he got here - tons of delays...but he finally arrived - the next day we went to my home ward here in New York - an elder in my ward was in Cameron's sunday school class out in Utah! Small world huh?

Monday, Cameron, my dad, sister and a bunch of my friends came to see my show, Rock on! It was sooo great to have him there - he is so supportive! I just love looking out into the audience and seeing his smiling sexy face!! My sister tried to take some video of the show, but it came out toooo dark! We are looking at an extended run in March!

Cameron being here was GREAT luck for me in my auditions! I had a little teeny thing on "Ugly Betty" while he was here...and I also had a day of callbacks and got cast in the long running off-Broadway play, The Awesome 80's Prom. (http://www.awesome80sprom.com/).

Also - we got to watch the amazing UTES destroyyyyy BYU - which was beyond awesome. We hope Scott and Natalie are getting good use out of our UTAH tshirt....oh wait, they gave it away....(I will let Cameron blog about the game, because im sure he has some great jokes to make!!!!!)

The main reason Cam came to NY was to celebrate Thanksgiving! He was very glad to pose with me for tons of pictures...

oops, that one is not cameron, its starr!

Then after I got about 100 pictures of cameron and I, we went to my dads parents house for Thanksgiving dinner...we start off with lasagna...and then have about 50 more entree's - Cameorn learned last year not to compliment the food, or you will be given even MORE!

After dinner, my aunt gathered everyone around to play a thanksgiving game where we all get a card that looked like a pie, and there were questions on it - about family, thanksgiving, etc. It was kind of like sharing time! It was fun because my family has never done anything like that before!

Cameron reading his card!

We also played some Malarky (see above) and ate 8 different kinds of pies, cookies and pastries.

It was a jolly thanksgiving and I cant wait to have Cameron back here in 3 weeks for Christmas!

happy halloween

So this year, being home with two younger siblings, I was very excited to go trick or treating and get candy to last me a few weeks! I had not gotten a costume this year so i searched my sisters closet for something that resembled a costume, and i came up with this:

Its feety pajamas, with no feet - but the legs are connected so its very hard to walk, and i looked like a green penguin. It was a hit!

Notice how the legs are connected .

This is me doing ballet in the costume.

Us before going trick or treating. Tyler was a "slasher" and Starr was a princess.

Ashley and her friends were the "Cullens" from Twilight (BEST BOOK EVER!) They made awesome costumes - if you are familiar with the book, they made their baseball uniforms! Very impressive!

My husband is cute!

It has been really hard being away from Cameron while im here in NY - but he is so cute and supportive and loving! He sent me these beautifullllllll roses!!!!

Aren't they pretty?! He did good, so good!

As for NY - it is going well! I just recorded a Vocie Over Commercial for Jeopardy Radio and my off-Broadway Rock Musical opens on the 17th!!

eventually there will be pictures and music up on that site, right now its just info!

Also, with my new hair - i had to get some new pictures for my books to bring on print auditions, here are some fun ones!!!
