Alissa's Baptism

Alissa was baptised on December 2nd and confirmed the following day. The baptismal service was amazing! There was about 15-20 people standing in the doorway because the room didn't fit everyone. 20 or more of her non-member friends were able to attend, and we hope they all felt the spirit, which I don't know how it would have possible not to feel it; the spirit was overwhelmingly strong. She was able to bear her testimony at the end, which included an invitation for all non-members to start coming to church because it is the best thing that has ever happened to her. She also bore her testimony at church the following day, and she simply exuded the spirit, happiness, and her zest for the gospel. Everyone in the congregation felt her strong spirit.
Alissa is truly magnificent. It has been such a learning experience for me as she has gone through a mighty change of heart and lifestyle. I feel that when it comes to citing scriptures and doctorine of the church I have helped her, but when it comes to living the gospel, and having near perfect humility coupled with pure enthusiasm for the gospel she has taught me wonders. She has been an example to me in reading the scriptures, (she has already read the BOM 1 and 1/2 times and is will finish the second time before the year's end) missionary work (she has invited many people to church, re-activated members, given Books of Mormon away, born her testimony, and endured persecution) and so many other forms of living the gospel. Her example has helped me become a better member of the church as well as so many others.
I wrote this because I want everyone to know of her strength in the gospel and I hope all can benefit from her example as I have. She truly is amazing and I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful person in my life. I love her so much and I know all of you will too. I can't wait for all of you to meet her!
P.S. I know the last picture is a bit cheesy, but it is an actual candid shot. I had no idea it was being taken. Someone took it on our way to dinner after the baptism. I included it for all those sappy romantics.
